My First Urdu Book

Book Reviews

Tahira Anwar’s My First Urdu Book  is a great first step in exposing non-Urdu speakers to a new alphabet. Her passion to teach Urdu to those who have a quest for learning a foreign language is commendable. A unique feature of the book is that the examples used for letters mirror new trends and modernity with only a few traditional objects. This book also introduces the vibrant culture of South Asia through these pictures. The Nastaleeq font and Roman index have made the book attractive and made learning pronunciation easier for students.
